A Connected User Experience for Hotel Guests

The hotel bar is a hotspot for interaction, and here it is leveraged to help connect guests to the local community.

Developed by students in the Spring 2013 Designing Interactions Class, the Scroll Bar was designed as a service that connected guests to local food culture by using an interactive surface at the hotel bar.

The hotel bar, as a spot potentially frequented by travelers and locals alike, was seen as the ideal place to implement a service based around local content. In this concept, visitors, guided by the bartender, use coasters in conjunction with an interactive bar surface to learn about highly recommended local food options.
